||Inventor Harrold was deceased at the time the patent was applied for. He was likely related to the four brothers who between them founded and operated both Enterprise Manufacturing Co. and Crescent Machine Co.

Sawmill dogging mechanism
||An intriguing patent: one of the witnesses is Elmer Harrold, who co-founded Crescent Machine Co. in the same year that this patent was issued. This patent date is reported on the dog holder on the head set of a "Medium New Buckeye Saw Mill" from Enterprise Manufacturing Co. of Columbiana.
Amos Harrold later received another sawmill patent that was assigned to Aultman & Taylor: patent 822,449.
