Sometime after World War II, Durand Machine Works made a 22-inch bandsaw of relatively heavy-duty construction.

Thanks to Kristian Wild for reporting a bandsaw seen at a machinery dealer.
A website for a consultant specializing in paper machine threading has this snippet: "Threading conveyors for mechanical tail transfer appeared in the mid-70’s produced by Durand Machine of New Westminster, BC, Canada. This device uses vacuum to attach the tail to a conveyor and can transport the tail more effectively at the highest machine speeds and over a wider range of sheet weights."
The Special Collections Division of the Library of the University of British Columbia, has, in its Chris DeBresson collection, a box of papers related to this company. It is marked as "RESTRICTED and CONFIDENTIAL". PDF document listing this box among the contents of the "Canadian Industrial Innovation Data Base".
An obituary in the May 24th, 2003 New Westminster Record (link is dead as of 2020, and was not saved by archive.org) for John Tompson, 90, mentions that he worked for Durand Machine Works from 1958 until his retirement which was presumably in about 1978.
