Hugh William King started a woodworking business in 1946 making doors, windows and church pews. In the early 1960's, when he could not find parts for a power feed unit, he instead just built a new one himself. This lead to a new branch of their business, making power feed units for the woodworking industry.
In 1963, King Manufacturing Company was founded as a metal fabrication company, making among other things power feed units for woodworking machinery.
