The Foster-Kimball Machine Co. was founded in 1902 as a partnership between William H. Foster and Dean G. Kimball. They moved from Chicago, IL to Elkhart, IN, in 1906 and the company was reorganized as the Foster Machine Co. in 1909 after Kimball had sold out. The company was bought by the International Machine Tool Co. in 1940 and subsequently sold to Gisholt Machine Co. in 1946.
