The Fairbanks Machine Tool Co. of Springfield, OH was founded in 1898 and was owned by the Springfield Foundry Co. Both companies along with the U. S. Tool Holder Co. were consolidated in 1903 to form the Fairbanks, Co. Lathes were discontinued after a few years and the company concentrated on manufacturing tool holders.
