    Charles H. Blake is listed as a machinist who had a shop in the Merrifield Buildings on Exchange St. He was a victim of the fire. Post fire, he formed a partnership with his brother, D.D. Blake in 1856. Doing business as the Blake Brothers, they advertised as making "shafting, pulleys, hangers, and had a patent for pulleys
