International Machine Tool Co. of Indianapolis, IN, was founded in 1906 by Orlando B. Iles, Charles L. Libby & William K. Millholland. Around 1920 they introduced the "Libby" lathes, a line of big heavy turret lathes with a large spindle-hole. These lathes were especially popular in the oil industry.

In 1923 the patterns, jigs and fixtures of Milwaukee Shaper Co. were purchased. The firm merged with Foster Machine Co. in 1941 and was renamed International Machine Tool Corp.
