The Phœnix Iron Works Co. was incorporated in March of 1889 as a successor to the Dick & Church company. The plant covered 3 acres and had about 200 workers. They made steam engines and boilers and made specialty castings and forgings for other companies.
Their engines and boilers were sold by Curtis & Co., Chicago, IL.
