Manufactured Steam Portable & Steam Traction Engines (1860-1930)

At the Royal Agricultural Society of England show at Taunton, England 1875.
Clayton and Shuttleworth, Lincoln, had two six-horse, two eight-horse, a ten-horse, and a seven-horse engine of their construction, working four of their thrashing machines, one of which carried off the £20 prize here, as it had done the Society's medal in 1872. The eight-horse portable engine was also a medal-gainer at Bedford, and their portable stacking machine was awarded the first prize at the Cardiff Royal Show. They also exhibited their prize adjusting blocks for chocking the wheels of a portable steam engine, screw jacks, sack-lifting and running barrows, and other miscellaneous articles.
