This woodworking machinery maker was founded in 1974 by Gilles Doucet. The developed panel gluing and handling equipment, flooring end-matchers and associated material-handling equipment.
Doucet purchased Paul Sicotte & fils in 1989, which added multi-spindle boring machines to Doucet's product line. In 1996 they purchased the Cadoret line of finger-jointing machinery from Cadortech after that company ceased operations. In January of 2001, the purchased the Progress Machine Co. brand and line of sanders; production was moved from Ajax, ON, to Victoriaville, QC.
Doucet continues to develop and improve their products, including their acquired products. They provide support for many of the products made by their predecessor companies.
