H. C. Pease & Co. was founded in about 1870 by Henry C. Pease to make Long's patent slide valve seat planers. In 1892 the firm was reorganized as the Pease Machine Tool Co. by George V. Rogers to make engine lathes for Prentiss Tool & Supply, a New York machinery dealer.
