One of several manufactories known as "The Atlantic Works", this Boston maker seems to have been short-lived. Incorporated in 1853, in 1856 the directors were Oliver Edwards, Mark Googins, William C. Hibbard, Abishai Miller, and Gilman Joslin (mangled to "Jastin" in the ad above. Gilman Joslin was a well-known globe maker, one of the more prolific such makers of the 19th century.
