Patent Number Date Title Name City Description
1,415,386 May. 09, 1922 Band-saw guide William W. Paddock Kansas City, KS According to the website of the Paddock Tool Co., the inventor was retired and passed the time in the back of a neighborhood pattern shop owned by Harry Miller. He developed these three-wheeled bandsaw blade guides and patented them. Apparently Mr. Paddock died not much later and Miller purchased the patent rights rights from Paddock's widow for $150. It wasn't until the early days of the Great Depression in 1929 that sales got rolling when Miller hired a salesman to peddle the guides. They are still being made.
2,152,906 Apr. 04, 1939 Band saw guide Harry G. Miller Kansas City, KS The patentee was the owner of the Paddock Tool Co. at the time this patent was issued. We have seen this patent number on a guide made by Paddock Tool Co. See patent 1,415,386 for more information on Miller's role in the genesis of the Paddock Tool Co.
