According to the current Davis & Wells web site, Davis & Wells machinery was manufactured between 1935 and 1983. A 12" tablesaw, circa 1940 is labeled "Davis & Wells / Los Angeles."
That Davis & Wells web site takes you to the current, Lynwood-based incarnation, which is really a repairer-reseller of Davis & Wells and other brands of woodworking machinery. We have seen a later model of Davis & Wells machine, a shaper, where the fine print on the label says, "Made in Shenyang Machine Works China". Machines made in Asia are not covered by this Vintage Machinery website so we can provide no further information on this era of Davis & Wells machine.
