  • Mentioned in 1872 Manufacturer & Builder as a maker of stave jointing machines who was exhibiting at that year's Cincinnati Industrial Exposition.
  • Harry A. Crossley received stave jointing patents during 1869 through 1880.
  • Listing in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States: "Stave jointing machinery. This machine is meeting with rapid success in all parts of the country, there being no less than sixty in operation in Cleveland alone."
  • Listed in a work published by the United States Centennial commission, Official Catalog of the 1876 International Exhibition, as a maker of "stair [sic] jointers".
