In mid-1907, Cincinnati Pulley Machinery Co. was organized to manufacture Streit pulley lathes and boring machines, having purchased the rights, drawings, and patterns from A. Streit Machine Co. By 1909, Avey drilling machines were being built by Cincinnati Pulley Machinery Co. At the end of 1919 that company renamed itself to the Avey Drilling Machine Co. In 1934 they relocated to Covington, KY. Sometime around about 1957 they became the Avey Machine Tool Co. Division of Motch & Merryweather Machinery Co. They survived until at least the mid-1970s.
