1879 Payne's Patent Threshing Engine


      B. W. Payne & Son Co. was founded in 1875 by B. W. Payne and his three sons to make Eureka Steam Engines. The company moved to Elmira, NY in 1882. After the death of the elder Payne in 1884, his sons ran the company. After 1897, the engines were made by the Wright Steam Engine Works of Newburg, NY.
