J-M Machine Works, Inc. was active in 1949 making various home-shop woodworking machines: shaper, swing saw, sanders, benchtop tablesaw. We have also seen an ad from Sierra Tool Co., Inc., of Los Angeles, for their "Eager Beaver" bench saw for $10.95 which sounds strikingly similar to the "Eager Beaver" bench saw for $10.95 from J-M Machine Works, Inc. Many companies who were trying to sell through distributors would use a different name when advertising machines for sale directly to consumers.
Machinery reseller Foster Manufacturing Co. sold J-M Machine Works' shapers.
