Seen on eBay: a 16x60 lathe with wood bed and legs, and heavy iron castings for headstock, tailstock and toolrest. Cast into the headstock is "G. H. HATCH / [M]AKER". The "M" in "MAKER" is missing, and the initial "H" might me an "M", hence "G. M. Hatch".
Information Sources
- Thanks to Art Shaw for bringing the lathe to our attention.
- Searches of the web, Google patents, and the "Making of America" archives all came up completely dry.
