This instance of Comet was founded in 1997, when they purchased the Comet radial arm saw line from Boice Crane Radial Arm Saw Company, a.k.a. M.I.T. International of Gothenburg, NE. See also Consolidated Machinery & Supply Co., Ltd. According to Comet Engineering, since 1945 the only significant changes to the saws have been to the electricals and the length of the arms. They describe the Comet as "the saw that put Production in Southern California framing."
The company website went offline in mid-2002. The Comet line of saws is no longer made and parts are no longer available.
