Seen on eBay: a small benchtop drill press with the name "PULLMAN" cast into the frame.
Information Sources
- A Google search failed to turn up any directly relevant information. It is possible that the drill press was made by the Pullman Co. whose primary business was making and operating passenger railcars. They certainly would have had the manufacturing facilities to make a simple machine like a small drill press, but we have no direct evidence that they ever did so. There is a town called Pullman in Washington, and Pullman Co. had a company town called Pullman that is now part of Chicago.
- A patent search did not reveal any drill-related patents to anyone named Pullman.
