The L. G. Alden Machine Co. claimed to have been established in 1883 but we cannot find evidence of that name before about 1954 (they may have acquired some predecessor firm but we have not found direct evidence of that). Lloyd G. Alden died in 1969; the company seems to have survived until at least 1974. They manufactured roll-feed gang rip saws.

  • 1969-08-23 Chicago Tribune, obituaries. "Lloyd G. Alden—Private services for Lloyd G. Alden, 804 Barlett St., Plainfield, owner of the L. G. Alden Machine Company of Joliet for 32 years, will be held today in St. Paul's Episcopal church in Plainficld. Mr. Alden died Wednesday in Silver Cross hospital, Joliet. Surviving aro his widow, Verna; a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Gates; a son, John; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two sisters."
