Between 1876 and 1881, William E. Eastman received three patents for miter machines. We have one report of a miter machine bearing the 1878 patent date. We have also seen pictures of an Eastman patent miter trimmer from Witherby, Rugg & Richardson.

Information Sources

Patent records provided Eastman's complete name and provide some data points on possible years of operation.
Correspondent Dennis Benge alerted us to a surviving example, labeled, "Eastman's Patent March 26, 1878 Sole manufacturer, Worcester Mass."
