The manufacturer is a guess, based on information received on the origins of the Salstrom Carving Machine Co. The story is that 16-year-old David B. Salstrom was working at a furniture factory when he was asked to demonstrate a Seaman carver. The demonstration was successful but Salstrom saw that the design could be improved. That was in 1888; in 1910, Salstrom designed and patented an improved machine that was ultimately manufactured by the Salstrom Carving Machine Co. |
