H. L. Shepard & Co. was founded in 1875 and reorganized in 1898 as the Shepard Lathe Co. Lathe production lasted until about 1921.
Do not confuse this firm with Shepard, Lathe & Co. of Worcester, Mass., which made woodworking lathes.
