  • An email correspondent reported a foot-pedel "expert miter plane", "MFG C H Buswell Worcester Ma."
  • This maker is listed in Kenneth Cope's American Foot Power and Hand Power Machinery, as the manufacturer of the "Expert Miter Plane". It's an early foot-powered "chopper" or miter machine, that cuts 45-degree angles. Thanks to Jeff McVey for providing this info.
  • A patent search did not turn up any woodworking-related patents to someone named Buswell.
  • A web search revealed a Charles H Buswell in New Hampshire and a Chester H. Buswell in Maine, both in the 1860s.
