  • The 1876 work, Draft-book of Centennial carriages, displayed in Philadelphia, at the International exhibition of 1876, similarly lists Griffiths as a maker of wood-bending machines.
  • Listed in an 1876 book by James Dabney McCabe, The illustrated history of the Centennial exhibition, as an exhibitor of wood-bending machines. John Willis Griffiths of Brooklyn received 1866 and 1875 patents for wood-bending machinery.
