From 1868 to at least 1874, this partnership sold a patent stave-sawing machine that used a curved reciprocating saw blade to produce curved staves.

  • Article in the 1869-10-09 Scientific American on Bishop's stave-cutting machine as patented in 1868 by William R. Bishop and Oriel D. Bishop, both of Harrison, WI. The article concludes, "Orders for State rights, county rights, and machines, may be addressed to George M. Beach, Milwaukee, Wis., agent for the sale of this improvement."
  • Listed in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States, as a maker of stave machines. The name was misspelled "Beech & Bishop".
