Listed in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States: "Steam engines, wood and slate working machinery."

An 1875 patent for a door and sash planing machine was assigned to B. S. Nichols and F. G. Coggin, both of Burlington, VT.
