Arza M. Benson manufactured stave machinery between at least 1872 and 1893, and probably for longer.

Listed in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States, as a maker of stave machines.
1872-1893 patents for stave machines were granted to Arza M. Benson of Cleveland.
An 1876 flyer for A. M. Benson: "Manufacturers of the Benson improved stave machinery". The address is 66 Center Street.
