Listed in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States: "Mowers, reapers, horse rakes, saw-mill machinery."
David Rawson of Belmont, NY, received an 1874 patent for a sawmill head-block. He was also granted an 1875 patent (with Francis N. Whitcomb of Amity, NY) for a circular sawmill. That patent noted that Rawson was deceased.
This firm is also listed in the Gazetteer and Business Directory Of Allegany County, N.Y. for 1875:
"Rawson, D., (Belmont,) (D. Rawson & Co.,) saw and shingle mill.
"Rawson. D. Co., (Belmont,) (F.N. Whitcomb,) manufs. of saw mills, mowers and reapers, mill machinery and gearing and agricultural implements."
