From an undated advertisement (probably clipped from a magazine): "Pequot Machine Company, Manufacturers of Machinists' Tools, Stovers' Patent Wood Working Machinery. Shingle Mills, Saw Mills, Looms, Steam Engines, Shafting, Hangers & Pulleys. Manufactory, Norwich, Conn. Ware Room, 117 Liberty Street, New York. H. D. Stover, President. J. W. Bicknell, Superintendent."

Listed in the 1874 work, Wiley's American iron trade manual of the leading iron industries of the United States: "Pequot Machine Works—C. B. Rogers & Co. Store, 109 Liberty Street, N.Y. Machinery, foundry, etc."

It is difficult to reconcile the existence of this company with Stover Machine Co., which was owned by H. D. Stover and made Stover's patent machinery. A search of the "Making of America" archive does not turn up any references to Pequot Machine Co.
