Established in 1874, the company was best known for its drills, countersinks, cutters, and special tools for the wood products industry. In 1888, they made a combined carving, reeding and rosette cutting machine, and the Twentieth Century cutter grinder between 1908 and 1928.
By 1973, the company relocated to Morristown, TN and operated as Morris Wood Tool Co. under the fifth generation of family ownership. The company closed after May 2014 and was liquidated; all equipment was sold at auction Nov. 18, 2017.
