This maker of planers, bandsaws, and band sawmills was active in the mid-1880s. It is likely that Benjamin & Fischer subsequently split into Benjamin Machine Co. and Fischer Machine Works. The former company made planers and matchers, and the latter company made bandsaws and band mills.

- The April 15, 1885 Wood and Iron journal contains an article featuring "Benjamin's Band Saw Log Mill": "Such a machine is the band mill invented by Edwin Benjamin, and manufactured by Benjamin & Fischer, of Chicago... Benjamin & Fischer of 17 South Canal Street, Chicago, or Thos. H. Reeves, their agent in [Minneapolis]."
- We have seen a couple of Benjamin & Fischer 4-side planers, with the "Triumph" model name.
- A 1993 bandmill patent, no. 5,176,055, references "'Band Saw Mill of Benjamin & Fischer', Title, Publisher and Publication Date Unknown."
