Heaps Engineering manufactured shingle machines. There is a connection to the BC woodworking machinery maker Heaps Waterous Ltd., which is, in turn, presumably related to Waterous, Ltd. of Brantford, Ontario.

- A 2002 article in New Westminster's newspaper "The Record" mentions Heaps Engineering as a local company that made munitions during World War I.
- A correspondent reports that his Heaps Waterous planer has a plaque on it indicating that it was made by Heaps Engineering in 1940.
