In 1962 Mitre Master Products Co. of San Fernando began manufacturing what was one of the very first portable miter saws. Their saw was patented that year by Leo M. Schwartz of San Fernando.
By 1964 the address printed on the labels affixed to these saws was B & E Products, Inc., 2033 Grandville Avenue Los Angeles 25, California.
A 1971 patent for improvements to the saw was granted to Ace C. Boultinghouse and assigned to B & E. Products, Inc. and Ralph Sadler Rosen.
By 1971 the address of the company producing these saws had changed again, this time to 3540 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90010
And by 1979 the address had once again changed, this time to 3103 S LaCienega Blvd, Los Angeles 90016.
Successive model numbers for these saws include 62A, 64A, 66A, and the corresponding addresses and/or company names suggest that these model numbers as well as the last two digits of the serial number correspond to the year in which those saws were manufactured. Into the early seventies the model number was changed to simply A and then B. Those versions featured a larger induction motor and an aluminum extrusion for the table and fence.

Provides desires angles instantly
A lightweight portable saw, weighing approximately 25 lbs, features postive-lock positioning. All controls are accessible by one handle for operating saw, and switching from 45° to 90° cuts requires only a simple movement from one lock position to the other. Actual cutting is done by pushing down the same handle. According to the manufacturer, Mitre Master Products Co., San Fernando, Calif., the device reduces finish time 100 per cent. It eliminates work by making finished cuts every time on any length of stock. The saw is equipped with electric motor, 8" all purpose blade turning at 3000 rpm and rigid cast aluminum frame. It has an easily accessible table, ball bearing arbor and lifetime lubrication.
