Founded in the 1930's, the Wadell Machine & Tool Company began manufactrer cylinder boss boring and socket grinding machines for DC-3 airplane reciprocating engines - at one time being the sole source for Pratt & Whitney and Curtiss-Wright. In the 1950's, they expanded their line to include boring and turning machines, grinding machines, chucking machines, spindles, angular positioning tables and rotating adjustable boring heads.
