The Airetool Manufacturing Company was founded by Walter T. Hamilton in 1929. The company originally specialized in manufacturing boiler tube cleaners and tube expander tools. In 1986, the company was purchased by Dresser Industries and became the Industrial Tool Division - Springfield Operations. Eventually Dresser was acquired by the Halliburton Corp. and in 2017 was again acquired by Equipment Group Investments (EGI) of Houston, Texas
