August Mössner founded August Mössner GmbH & Co.KG in 1898 in Schwäbisch-Gmünd. The manufacture of band saws for the efficient and precise sawing of steel and metal was the focus of the company.
In 1938, the first horizontal band saw was built, initially for internal testing. In 1956, the company moved into its new premises in Mutlangen.
The 10.000th band saw was delivered in 1960, the 20.000th one in 1972. Between 1985 and 1987, further innovative developments were made, such as a fully automatic programmable CNC contour saw for aluminum castings.
Mössner celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1998. Due to the company's constant growth and continuous development, the production halls in Mutlangen gradually became insufficient in terms of capacity. Therefore, in 2000, the company relocated from their previous location in Mutlangen to Eschach, approximately 13 km away.
