Hegner Präzisionsmaschinen GmbH in Villingen-Schwenningen goes back to the company Gebrüder Hegner which was founded in 1938. Accordingly, it is committed to the quality-oriented Black Forest tradition of precision mechanics and mechanical engineering. The founders Ernst and Willi Hegner designed and built bench and in-line drilling machines as well as tapping machines. This was followed by special machines for metalworking. For 30 years, the focus of development and production has been on machines and tools for precision woodworking. Hegner has built up a reputation as one of the world's leading manufacturers of scroll saws and often achieves top positions with these products in the quality and application tests of trade journals. Hegner also offers various sanding machine systems for professional, training and hobby use, as well as milling machines, lathes and woodworking centers.
As of 2025, the company employs around 40 people and is owned by the Broghammer family.
