Founded in 1881 by Allen M. Swift to manufacture Sight Feed Lubricators. In 1928, the firn fell on hard times and closed. It was then reopened in 1938 by Allen Swift's son, Charles (Bud) Swift and Charles Burke. In 1963 the company chaned it's name to Swift Glass Co. and they subsequently bought out the Eclipse Glass Co. By 1971, Swift Glass Co. took over the finishing of "Pyrex" glass from the Cornig Glass Co.
