The Hilger Co., St. Cloud, MN, was established in about 1939 by William P. Hilger to manufacture floor sanding machines. The company went bankrupt in about 1951 and their product assets were acquired in 1952 by Clarke Sanding Machine Co.

    Manufacturer Appoints New Sales Manager—Announcement of the promotion of Harold L. Winje to general sales manager of The Hilger Company, St. Cloud, Minn., has been made by W. P. Hilger, general manager, at the opening of the company's recent general sales meeting attended by sales representatives from all territories. The 1941 models of "Hilco" floor sanders were also presented at this meeting. Mr. Winje advanced from positions of advertising manager and accessory sales manager and has been with The Hilger Co. for more than three years. Earlier, he affiliated with Wood Conversion Co. Mr. Winje has had experience in retail lumber yard operation.
