In the 1960s and '70s Gerbing Manufacturing Corp. made the "Roto-Cone" and "Var-A-Cone" variable speed drive systems that are similar to the Reeves Drive system of Reeves Pulley Co. In 1972 Gerbing Mfg. Corp. was acquired by Dana Corp. and sometime later by T. B. Wood's Sons Co., of Mount Pleasant, MI, who as of 2023 continue to manufacture variable-speed pulleys descended from the original Gerbing designs.
