Founded in 1904 by Fred W. Spacke, this firm originally manufactured air compressors. In 1910 the company began manufacturing motorcyle gas engines.
      Fred W. Spacke died in 1915 and the company was reorganized as the Spacke Machine & Tool Co.. By 1920, the firm was producing automobile engines.
