In 1902 the Hillstrom Machine Co. of Michigan, City, Indiana, was manufacturing a patent machine for sharpening bandsaw blades. The machine had been developed by Jacob E. Hillstrom, who was in "charge of the saws in one of the largest furniture factories in the world." We have seen the same patent date on a sharpening machine from Foley Saw Tool Co., and it seems most likely that Foley acquired the Hillstrom company.
