Just after World War II ended Grover Products of Los Angeles manufactured a 1x42 belt sander. At some point manufacture changed to L. V. Grover and the sander was branded the "Speedi-Smooth". In 1949 Lyndon V. Grover obtained a patent for the sander's belt-tensioning mechanism. A 1969 patent for an improved design suggests that he manufactured his sander until at least that time.
