Machine for making nuts, washers, &c.
|
William Kenyon |
Steubenville, OH |
This machine was reportedly developed in about 1847, and in 1850 the inventor sold the rights to the invention to local steam engine maker Haigh, Hartupee & Co., which used the invention to manufacture nuts and washers for sale (as far as we can tell they did not manufacture the machines for anyone else). By 1858 the inventor was the proprietor of the Jefferson Machine Works. An 1870 ad for that firm lists "Patent Bolt & Nut Machines" among their products. |
