From a brief notice in an 1889 issue of Manufacturer & Builder:

The Standard Manufacturing Company, manufacturers of high class wood-working machinery, wooden pulleys, and general mill supplies, have lately removed their works from Moore’s Hill to Edinburgh, Ind. The new establishment affords improved and enlarged facilities, being furnished with the most modern tools for the manufacture of wood-working machinery. The company at present have about 300 men employed on a high grade of wood-working machinery, and are running on full time to keep up with the demand for their products. The superior quality of these machines, and the thorough organization of the establishment, enable the company to compete favorably with any manufacturer of the same class in the country. The present capacity of the new works is six machines a day.

The following month's issue of Manufacturer & Builder carried this notice:

The Standard Manufacturing Company, of Edingburgh, Ind., inform us that they are having quite a run on their specialty of wood-cutting machines. Their output is six machines daily, and they say that this is not sufficient for the great demand for their high-grade tools. They have recently introduced a 7-foot band log mill, which they say is going to take the lead, and will soon advertise it.
