The company incorporated Jan. 1938 to manufacture forges, blowers, post drills, workshop vises, tool grinders, grinding wheels, and other hardware products. The vise in their 1943 ad is marked EXCELL ALL, and Coolkutter was a grinder brand name. The firm succeeded Western Hardware Manufacturing Co., which used Bulldog as a brand name.
