This business was established in 1909 as the Waterloo Cement Machinery Corp. In 1920 the name was changed to Construction Machinery Corporation (CMC); we have also seen the name Construction Machinery Sales Co. marked on TOPS radial arm saws, as discussed below. The company survived until at least 1967 but is now long gone.
Their primary product lines were cement mixers and pumps, but they also made—or at least put their name on—a few woodworking machines of a distinctly agricultural character. They used bent sheet metal in preference to cast iron, even for the top of their tablesaw.
CMC also acted as sales agents for the TOPS line of radial arm saws (see links below). The saws were badged with the CMC name, or with the "Construction Machinery Sales Co." name.
A brochure seen on US eBay in Aug. 2019 was for the Power Sawyer, a large tilting-table saw mounted on a steel skids with a water-cooled Le Roi Co. engine. A long D-handle, attached to a sliding fence at right angle to the blade, helped to pull the work through. Machines built for the US military had Wisconsin Motor Mfg. Co. model AC-4 engines.
